What is a Carbide saw blades ?
A carbide saw blades is generally a steel saw blade that has had either tungsten or titanium carbide teeth inset into the steel as cutting teeth. The saw tips are normally braised to the steel. The carbide saw tips take a good edge and are far more durable than would be steel teeth.
Carbide is also quite hard and can be used to cut carbon steel if a properly designed and supported cutting edge is used. Carbide saw tips require diamond abrasive for sharpening.
Carbide cutting edges are also used on some drill bits, router bits, planer blades, milling machine cutters and shaper cutters.
